I'm not sure if your style would suit the idea?
The best thing to do is ask me directly, I won't take on a project if I can't see a successful outcome. Although it might be your idea, I'ts my work and my reputation.
Can you paint from a photograph?
Yes, although it is used as reference and the finished painting is never an exact copy. If you can't find suitable images I can research some for you, or arrange for a photoshoot to then paint from in the studio.
How much does it cost?
Each project is different. I will always ask you to contact me for a quote so I can gauge the amount of studio time will be needed. Don't be afraid to state your budget or cost expectations early on. Payment terms are also flexible. Once I quote you a price... I won't be offended if you say no thank you, or not at this time.
Is there a limit to size or shape?
Anything goes, although certain sizes and shapes will look best for different purposes. I have the capacity to construct large scale and odd shape canvases, with only time and cost the limiting factors. Feel free to ask me any questions on scale and suitability.
Can I make suggestions?
Yes, I use the same process for all my projects whether personal or commercial. There are natural points at which your input is encouraged, the artwork can then be revised. The number of revisions is usually negociated before the commission is agreed. A breakdown of the steps of commissioning can be seen here... with a full example of the industry standard terms and conditions used here.
What if I don't want to be involved...? I want the big reveal to be a suprise.
No problem, i'm a confident and creative artist who can motor along under his own steam.
I don't know how to hang the work, can you help install it?
Depending on your location, yes. Otherwise i'm happy to advise via email or over the phone. The majority of my canvases are suprisingly lightweight, and are relatively easy to hang.
What if I don't like the work?
Hopefully you have seen the style of my artwork before commissioning and will appreciate it for what it is. If the work is not to your liking, I will try to revise the piece within the terms of the agreement until it is. If you do wish to cancel the artwork a fee will be charged according to the stage of production. See the full terms and conditions for details.
